Question 1

Do I need to install Shader Terror VHS on the client or the server?

Accepted Answer

The client only. There is nothing to install on the server side. That is the author's declared design, not a guarantee for every server: one running anti-cheat or missing a counterpart mod can still object.

Question 2

What licence is Shader Terror VHS under?

Accepted Answer

LicenseRef-All-Rights-Reserved, as stated by the author on the platform we synced it from. Check the project's own page before redistributing or bundling it.

Question 3

How do I install Shader Terror VHS?

Accepted Answer

You need a shader loader first: Iris (with Sodium) or OptiFine. Put the downloaded file in your shaderpacks folder and select it in the video settings shader screen. The shader loader, not the pack, decides which Minecraft versions work.

Question 4

Where do I download Shader Terror VHS safely?

Accepted Answer

Start with the author's page on Modrinth, which is where the data here is synced from. MCReference does not host or repackage files. When available, recorded download links go to the source for that release; verify the publisher, filename and any available checksum before running it.

Question 5

Which Minecraft versions does Shader Terror VHS work on?

Accepted Answer

The author has not declared a supported version in the metadata we sync, so there is nothing here we can state as fact. Check the project's own page before installing it, and treat an old shader pack with no declared version as untested on modern Minecraft.
